How to Post on the Site

The Boring Preamble...

I never did create a post on how to actually post on this site, and although most of you got it, let me just go over the basics...

What Types of Posts are on the Site

There are a few different post types available for fantasypearl.net. To create new content simply click on the menu item titled create content and select from the menu. Some content types include:

• Character Profiles: This is where you can post a profile about your character for others to see. It contains information such as your character name, home nation, current job levels, bio, current missions and crafting levels. This is helpful for other players in case they want to perhaps coordinate a mission party, xp with ls members, or for crafting help. Currently about half of you have profiles up, lets get everyone else on here =D
• Stories: This is to create a new stand-alone story, which you can use to pretty much post anything you like.
• Forums: This works like forums on other sites. Currently there are a few main forum topics, you can post under them, or you can create your own new topic. You can also access the existing forums by clicking on forums on the menu. I'd love to see a little more action on the forums^^!
• Image Galleries: This is my favorite part of the site...here you can upload images or screenshots to share with the ls, everyone has their own image gallery. If you are not listed as having one, please let me know and I will add you ASAP as atm I have to create the individual galleries manually. To add an image, just go into the content - create content - image gallery. When adding a pic, just select the name of your gallery from the dropdown list so it gets posted into your personal image gallery. To browse what images other people have, select image galleries from the menu. Keep in mind that the preferred image format for gallery is jpeg.. the default file type saved by ffxi is bmp. You can still upload those but they will not be resized as thumbnails. If you can't convert the file type yourself when submitting screenshots, just go ahead and post and I'll fix them from my end as I see new ones up.
• Polls: You can vote on, and even create your own polls for people to vote on. Recent polls generally appear on the home page, you can access all created polls by selecting polls from the menu. To create a new poll click on the create content menu item and select polls.
• Blogs: You can have your very own blog... I think Lalandra started one and never ever did post again... lol... but it's there if anyone ever wants to have a blog for their character. I may actually start one someday, if only to remember what i did, say, perhaps 3 days ago because I have such a bad short-term memory XD.

Other Features on the Website

There are other features on the website... there is the who's online box visible only to logged-in users, the chatbox where u can get on and chat with other chars logged in that are also logged into chatbox (many a fun conversation i've had w ark and dury on there lol), I realize it's not the greatest online chat module but it's the only one I could find as a stable release for Drupal (the CMS that this site is based on). The recent posts menu item is very handy to see what the lastest posts are, it will indicate to you (when logged in) which posts are new and still unread by you. The user list shows everyone registered on this website, and if they allow for receiving of e-mails you can contact them directly (note on this: The message will be processed through a contact form, so even though you will get the message via e-mail, your e-mail will still remain anomynous to the person sending the message).
